All New. All Change

Having redesigned the Ginger Revolution from the ground up, Ben introduces what's new and what's yet still to come

With a strategy now in place to see my aspirations come true, the time has nearly come to return back to my journal, but before doing so, let me please introduce to you my newly redesigned journal.

A more beautiful Revolution
From the ground up I have rethought every aspect of the site, making sure at every opportunity it is fit for purpose. Now much simpler and much cleaner, I hope you will agree that the overall design and presentation is a big improvement on what was here before.

You'll also notice I have in place a new banner and logo which through the help of my Dad and one of his colleagues, Alex Otero, I have (I hope) created a much more recognisable brand that will begin appearing much more both on and off of the journal.

A more practical Revolution
This all said, the changes I have made a far from just cosmetic...

The journal itself is now greatly enhanced with changes geared towards making navigating the entries all the more easy. As such, as you now scroll through the journal you'll see just a short summary accompanied by a preview to whet your appetite.

In addition, for those readers new to the site, the "My Journal" tab at the top of the page is now home to a complete index of all my entries, allowing readers a much simpler means of catching up.

Beyond the journal I have too redeveloped my other pages. I have completely rewritten my "About" page, redesigned how you view "The Journey So Far" and also included a new page, "My Objectives". Here, you can now get a far greater insight in to what I hope to achieve and importantly too, check up on progress.

A more social revolution
Finally, I have also begun what will be the first in a series of changes to make it far easier for you to get involved and have your say. With a Facebook Page and Twitter account, you can now receive all the latest updates direct to your favourite social networks, ensuring you're always kept in the know of when new entries hit the journal.

Best of all, you can now comment in to my journal with far greater ease, simply using your Facebook account. How great is that!?

And what about the future?
So yes, I have already made a fair few changes but don't think it stops there, for over the coming months I have big plans.

First up, gone are the days of waiting weeks at a time for new entries... you can take my word for it that you'll from this point forward be getting several updates a week. Moreover, the content you receive won't just be more frequent, it promises too to be more real. Increasingly personal and far more open, the journal of the future will be a great deal more revealing and with it I hope a more honest and enjoyable read.

Finally, the biggest change will arrive in the March 2013, when for the first time I will be handing the reins over to you, giving readers the regular chance to determine what it is I get up to.

Promising then to be bigger, better and brighter than ever, this ladies and gentlemen is The Ginger Revolution. And this is just the very beginning.

What do you think?
Do you love it? Do you hate it? Or are you simply indifferent? Let me know what you think of the new design and if you have any suggestions on things you'd like to see come up in the coming weeks and months, be sure to let me know in the comment box below...
